Translation

I provide translations from Georgian into English of written material.

I can also provide proofreading, transliteration of Georgian script into English and checking of Georgian documents already translated into English by another party.

I do not translate into Georgian because it is not my mother tongue.

I have a particular interest in translations relating to civic engagement, human rights and third sector/NGO involvement in Georgia and Transcaucasia.

I qualified as a translator with the Chartered Institute of Linguists (UK) in 1999:

Diploma in Translation (Georgian into English)

General translation with annotations: Pass
Semi-specialised translation (literature): Merit
Semi-specialised translation (humanities): Pass

I have carried out translation work for private and public sector organisations including Oxford University Press, Sony Ericsson, Oxfam, Channel 4, the UK Home Office and the European Human Rights Advocacy Centre.
